A taxi is driving down the road. A woman called BETTINA is sitting next to the taxidriver PARVEZ. The camera is following the car in a medium long shot without moving.
Then the camera perspective changes to an over the shoulder shot of PARVEZ and BETTINA. A BOY cross the street.
PARVEZ (surprised): "That's my son."
The camera shows a medium shot of BETTINA and PARVEZ. BETTINA turnes to PARVEZ.
BETTINA: "Slow down then, slow down!"
BETTINA takes a look for his son ALI.
BETTINA: "He's good-looking. Reminds me of you. But with a more determined face. Please, can't we stop?"
PARVEZ (harsh): "What for?"
BETTINA (begging): "I'd like to talk to him".
PARVEZ stops the car. The camera is standing next to ALI and shows a full shot of the left site of the car. PARVEZ turnes the cab round.
PARVEZ: "Coming home?" It's quite a way."
The camera moves to a point-of-view shot from PARVEZ perspective. ALI shrugges and got into the back seat.
Then the camera shows a medium shot of ALI, sitting in the back of the car.
ALI takes a look at BETTINA and turnes up his nose. A little bit ashamed PARVEZ opens the window and keep up driving.
Now the camera shows a medium shot of BETTINA who turn to ALI.
BETTINA (gently): "Hello. You're Parves' son, right?"
The camera is showing how ALI looks out of the window.
While they are talking the camera moves between BETTINA and ALI.
BETTINA (gently): "Where have you been?"
ALI (uninterested and still looking out of the window): "The mosque."
BETTINA (interested): "And how are you getting on at college? Are you working hard?"
ALI (unpolite): "Who are you to ask me these question?"
The camera shows how the car is stopping in traffic and flips back to the inside.
BETTINA lay down her hand on PARVEZ' shoulder.
BETTINA: "Your father, who is a good man, is very worried about you. You know he loves you more than his own life."
ALI looks to BETTINA.
ALI (incredulous): "You say he loves me."
BETTINA: "YES!"
ALI (harsh): "Then why is he letting a woman like you touch him like that?"
Close up of BETTINA. Her face turn red in anger.
BETTINA (angry): "What kind of woman am I that deserves to be spoken to like that?"
ALI (uninterested): "You know."
A little pause.
ALI: "Now let me out!"
The camera shows an over-the-shoulder-shot of PARVEZ.
PARVEZ: "Never."
BETTINA: "Don't worry, I'm getting out."
PARVEZ: "No, don't."
Outsite full shot of the taxi. BETTINA tooks her handlebag and threw herself out of the moving car and ran away.
PARVEZ shouts out of the Window.
PARVEZ (shouting): Bettina! Bettina, come back. He didn't mean it!"
BETTINA is gone.
ALI: "I did!"
-The scene fades into black. End of the scene-
