Biografie:
Diana Wynne Jones wurde am 16. August 1934 in London geboren. Sie wuchs in Essex auf und lebt nun in Bristol. Sie ist mit einem pensionierten Englischprofessor der Universität von Bristol, verheiratet.
Sie interessierte sich schon immer für das Erzählen von phantastischen Geschichten, kam aber erst nachdem ihre Kinder älter geworden waren dazu, selbst Geschichten zu schreiben.
Sie hatte in Oxford studiert und dabei teilweise Veranstaltungen von J.R.R. Tolkien und C.S. Lewis besucht.
Der Kinofilm „Das wandelnde Schloss“ von Miyazaki Hayao basiert auf ihrem Kinderbuch „Sophie im Schloss des Zauberers“.
